What to Expect with Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic surgery is one of the best things you can do to improve your aesthetic appeal, but it is often a big deal. If you are considering cosmetic surgery, you probably have questions regarding the procedure. You’ll be glad to know that every member of the Greater Charlotte Oral and Facial Surgery is dedicated to answering your questions and helping you get the very best care possible.
For every patient, we start with a consultation during which our cosmetic surgeon will meet one-on-one with patients. We listen to what areas you want to change and make procedure recommendations based on your individual goals, as well as your medical history. Dr. Marashi and Dr. Coviak will review the steps of the cosmetic process, and thoroughly answer all of your questions.
On the day of the surgery, you can expect the surgery time to last 1-2 hours, depending on the specific procedure. (Minimally invasive procedures, like Botox and injectables, take only a few minutes.) In the days leading up to your appointment, our team will check-in and give instructions to help you prepare for a successful surgery.
After cosmetic surgery, our team will follow-up with you to make sure you are healing properly and that there aren’t any complications.
Cost of Cosmetic Surgery in Charlotte
A number of factors can affect the cost of cosmetic surgery. The type of cosmetic surgery you undergo is one of the most important factors, as some procedures are more complex and are therefore more costly. At Greater Charlotte Oral and Facial Surgery, we offer a variety of cosmetic surgeries, including:
BOTOX® and Restylane®
Chin and Cheek Augmentation
Facial Contouring with Liposuction
Forehead or Brow Lift
Insurance may cover the costs of a procedure if it will improve your physical function, correct a congenital problem you have had since birth, or repair an issue caused by an accident. Our Greater Charlotte Oral and Facial Surgery team will review costs during your consultation. We’ll also be glad to help you navigate your financing options.

Cosmetic Surgery FAQs
Do I need a referral to see a cosmetic surgeon?
You may only need a referral to a cosmetic surgeon if you plan to undergo reconstructive surgery covered by insurance. Otherwise, you do not need a referral to see a cosmetic surgeon for elective surgery.
Will my insurance cover cosmetic surgery?
Your insurance provider may cover the costs of your cosmetic surgery, depending on the policy. Insurance may pay for severely sagging eyelids that impair your ability to see, for example.
How long does it take to recover from cosmetic surgery?
Recovery time depends largely on the type of cosmetic surgery you undergo. You may resume your normal activities within a few hours of having Botox®, for example, but you may need to wait two to four weeks to resume normal activities after having a facelift.
How do you prepare for cosmetic surgery?
Your cosmetic surgery team will provide you with detailed instructions on how to prepare for the specific procedure you undergo, but some general rules apply to preparing for any type of cosmetic surgery include arranging someone to drive you home after the procedure, pre-filling any prescriptions you may need after surgery, plan for special eating and drinking instructions from the doctor, and stop smoking in advance of your surgery.
